Can you get the Coronavirus from going in a swimming pool or hot tubs? It's already pool season here in Phoenix Arizona, and many of you are wondering if you can actually catch the Coronavirus disease, aka Covid-19, in swimming pools, hot tubs, or even in artificially made bodies of water. I answer your question here in this short video. During this crisis, it is important that pools and spas be properly maintained because: -The maintenance properly sanitizes swimming pools and other artificial bodies of water to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases and help maintain community health. -Without property pool maintenance (which include circulation and treatment of water) various germs can grow. It can also create a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests and the diseases they may carry. This presents a risk not only to bathers but the entire community at large. -Swimming pools, spas or even hot tubs are a fun way for families to focus on their health and well-being. These pools and spas should be properly maintained to ensure proper sanitation measures are taking place. Remember, if you do not know how, YouTube has many tutorial videos on how to maintain your pool, or you can hire a Pool Tech to come out and do it for you. Summertime in Arizona calls for at least once a week in maintaining the chemical treatment in your pool. Winter time is generally twice a month. Also remember, this does not remove the fact that social distancing still is encouraged and should be practiced regularly when you are around others. It’s not the pool water that might expose you to the virus, but maybe the door handles and other objects that people are having a lot of contact with. Be sure to wash your hands frequently.
